Boston Fan Pier - A new marina and condominium complex in South Boston owned by the Fallon Group. In 2009, when these pictures were taken, the marina was hosting the Volvo Ocean Race. Boston was the only North America stop in this around-the-world ocean race. The gangway system consists of a series of aluminum gangways and platforms in a switchback configuration to make the floating dock ADA accessible through Boston's ten foot tide cycle.
